DLTK's Crafts for Kids
Squirrel Paper Craft

This squirrel is a simple cut and paste paper craft that is fun for young children to make.  It makes a great project for preschool and kindergarten kids (though my 9 year old really enjoyed it too *grin*)

There is a small (single page) and larger (two templates) version to choose from.

Materials:

bullet something to colour with if using the B&W version,
bullet scissors,
bullet glue, and
bullet paper

bulletYou can use brass tacks instead of glue to attach the head, tail or arms if you want them to be moveable.

Instructions:

bulletPrint out the template of choice.

bulletColour (where appropriate).

bulletCut out the template pieces -- parents can help cut out some of the more difficult pieces like the acorn while children work on the easier pieces like the body and legs.

bulletGlue the squirrel together in the following order:
bulletglue the feet behind the body
bulletglue the arms onto the body
bulletglue the acorn into one of the hands
bulletglue the tail behind the body
bulletglue the head onto the body

bulletSee picture on the template for further help

Templates:
