DLTK's Crafts for Kids
Batman Toilet Paper Roll Craft
I always shudder when I have to make a craft
that's pretty much targeted to boys. Not because I don't enjoy designing them, but
because I don't really have any "testers" (both my children are girls and
weren't overly interested in making Batman). I had my husband scrutinize this one to
make sure it's "cool" (even though he's old *grin*). Hopefully we did
ok! By the way, I'm sure some girls might love batman, just not mine at the
moment... *wink*. Kaitlyn (age 2) looked at him and said "oooh, scawy"
(scary... she uses w's for r's). Tasha (age 6) looked at him and said "mommy,
that's a BOY thing".

Batman is a simple color, cut and paste paper craft that uses a toilet paper
roll as a base to give it a three dimensional effect. My children love to
play with toilet paper roll crafts as much as they like making them.Materials:
 | toilet paper roll, |
 | printer, |
 | piece of paper, |
 | some crayons, paint, markers or pencil crayons, |
 | scissors, |
 | glue |
Instructions:
 | Print out both templates of choice.
(Template 2 has the legs and cape)
|
 | Colour (where appropriate) and cut out the
template pieces.
|
 | Glue the large rectangular piece on first to
cover the tube.
|
 | Glue on the bat, belt and cape.
|
 | Glue on the head, legs and the arms. (We did the legs so it looked like Batman was sitting down)

Templates:
 | Close the template window after printing to return to this screen.
|
 | Set page margins to zero if you have trouble fitting the template on one
page (FILE, PAGE SETUP or FILE, PRINTER SETUP in most browsers). |
