| Subject: | Re: Huggies Pull-ups |
| Message: | WAY back when *grin* (my girls are 6 and 9 now) I did use pull ups. They worked great with Tasha... she basically wore them like one would panties but they were absorbant in case of emergency. It took a few months but she used the toilet with increasing frequency so we were very happy and toilet training was over before we knew it. And then came Kaitlyn *laugh*. Our first problem with pull ups and Kaitlyn was that she would pull them off and leave them scattered around the house... the freedom of a bare bum was too much to resist *grin*. After some coaxing we convinced her to leave them on. But our problems weren't over. She just would NOT use the toilet -- it seemed like she'd be playing or whatever and just couldn't be bothered to stop and go potty... the pull ups were obviously so comfortable for her even when wet that she wasn't motivated to do the job. Now keep in mind, that I'm an easy going mom. I wasn't in a huge rush or anything so let it go for quite some time -- everyone develops at different rates so I figured the fact that she was taking longer than Tasha to master the art of the toilet wasn't the end of the world. But eventually I decided it might be time to try something different. We traded the pull ups in for some "old fashioned" thick cloth panties. She was 100% toilet trained in about 3 days. She was so proud to have "real" panties that she wore them on the outside of her clothes for the first day so everyone could see her cool new underwear (and oh yes, those photos will definitely be shown to her boyfriends *grin*). She didn't like to soil them as they weren't as comfortable as her pull ups. And she was excited to keep wearing them because it was so "big girl" in her mind (look mommy I have panties just like Tasha) I hope that helps! Leanne |
