| Message: | The "Gone Fishing" game on the site http://www.dltk-kids.com/animals/mgone_fishing_game.htm works well for bible themed celebrations. Another idea I saw one year was a "Good Samaritan House" instead of a haunted house. It had little dioramas of helping others/Christian values instead of ghosts and goblins (and as the kids came out of it, they received treat bags full of candy labeled "What Would Jesus Do?" with a cross drawn on them. I've also participated in "Dress up as your favorite bible character" Halloween events (though it may be a bit late for that). http://www.kidssundayschool.com/Gradeschool/Games/gameindex.php has a whole bunch of sunday school activites. (the ones with the dots are members only). The treasure hunt might be fun (make sure you give everyone treats at the end). If you don't feel like coming up with treasures to hunt for, print out the Bible Bingo call sheet from my site http://www.dltk-cards.com/bingo/ This will give you 30 images to hide. You can tape them onto something larger (rocks, cardboard, etc) for hiding). When you've finished finding them all... you can quiz the kids a bit about bible storeis the bible images might relate to (of course you can also play bible bingo at the party too... but I thought a scavenger hunt type event might be fun too).
