For those who aren't familiar, F.R.O.G. stands for Fully Rely on God. Bible readings include ones like Matthew 11: 28 It's a great alternative to WWJD (especially for younger kids). I've also heard Fully Rely on God (He'll accept warts and all) as a cute alternative saying *smile*
There are, as with just about anything, many items you can purchase on or off line to go with this theme ... but you know me, I like to make things instead of buying them. And there are a lot of frog activities available on the internet.
Here are some thoughts:
paper craft (easy craft for preschool children) You can write F.R.O.G. across his tummy http://www.dltk-kids.com/animals/mefrog.html
toilet paper roll craft (kindergarten and grade one group) You can make a small flag with FROG on it, glue it onto a toothpick and glue it into his hands http://www.dltk-kids.com/animals/mfrog.html
Frog pouch (Age 3+) -- made with paper plates, this little frog can be made by the instructors prior to camp and hung on the wall. Place the days bible reading or thought into his mouth before the children arrive. They'll be excited each day to find out what the frog has to say! http://www.dltk-kids.com/animals/mfrogpouch.html
Frog puppet -- older children can make frog puppets http://www.dltk-kids.com/animals/mpfrog.html and design a puppet show to give to the other children. We had loads of fun playing with ours!
FROG necklaces -- cut a small round of wood with holes drilled in the top (a dad can make up a bunch of these prior to the gatherings). Use dried alphabet pasta and let the children find the word FROG. Glue to the wood, put a string through the rounds (the kids can add beads or colored pasta to the string to expand the craft. An alternative to wood rounds is rounds cut from styrofoam meat trays, they won't last as long, but they're a lot easier to get.
FROG bracelets -- Cut the bottom of a plastic 1 L pop or water bottle. Cut 1 or 2 inch rounds off the bottle (bracelets) -- one bottle will make 5 or more bracelets. Paint green, write FROG on with permanent marker or let the kids stick alphabet stickers on to spell FROG
FROG hats (supplies are a bit more expensive) http://www.makingfriends.com/visor_frog.htm
Craft stick frog http://www.makingfriends.com/stick_frog.htm (instead of craft sticks, you could cut your own "sticks" out of styrofoam meat trays or used cereal boxes). I'm not sure what your budget is like. I often use this trick (make my own sticks) when it calls for craft sticks or woodsies)
Pom Pom frog http://www.makingfriends.com/pompom_frog.htm (again, it is possible to make your own pom poms. If you want to know how, just let me know (post here again))
Hop on It door hanger (instead of hop on it, write Fully Rely on God) http://www.makingfriends.com/Hoponindoorhanger.htm (again, you can substitute home made sticks and shapes)
I'd better submit here, before I run out of time and my computer crashes *laugh*. I'll post again with some recipes and games soon.
