Oatmeal boxes covered with foil and topped with a cone shape make great table decorations. Paper towel rolls cut in half with a cone shape top make good mini rockets and can be filled with candy for a place setting. You could have construction paper and glue, glitter and shiny paper and let the kids draw their own rocket ship to take home.
You might look at 4th of July projects to get ideas for other decorations.
