You can purchase small cardboard treasure chests from oriental.com--item # ED-5/460. They are $2.40 each. I bought one for each child and filled it with candy necklaces and rings, coin gum, salt water taffy, swedish fish, etc. Then hide all the boxes and have the kids go on a treasure hunt. Place the clues somewhere in your yard (3 per child is usually enough). Write it out like a pirate: "Shiver me timbers! That's just what you do, Go to the pile of wood To find the next clue. To make it easier, assign each child a color and have their clues on that color construction paper. Kids love it!
