I love obstacle courses for parties. You could make a pirate obstacle course. Some course ideas are
- a board (or strip of paper) on the ground for walking the plank.
- a wading pool of water with plastic sharks in it if you like or just pretend sharks will work too (wading through shark infested waters)
- a bucket of sand with a shovel (or a sandbox or a wheelbarrow). They have to dig through the sand and locate one gold coin (you can make these with cardboard and gold foil wrapping paper) (or plastic bottle with a note inside)
- skipping ropes dangling from trees or the ceiling (snake filled jungle)
You can either use your obstacle course as a non-competitive follow the leader type game OR you can split your group into two teams and use it as a relay OR you can have each child go individually and time them with a watch
