Most of the toilet paper roll crafts on the site can be glued onto soup can sized cans as well. Try making the TP roll pilgrim or pilgrim mouse out of canned goods.
If you want a sturdier version, use the same idea as the paper craft, but use fun foam instead. It won't bend or tear.
