In 1998 we made candle holders for tea light candles out of clipart. The children colored the clipart and glued them onto babyfood jars. They painted over the clipart and entire jar with glue then rolled in table salt and let dry. It is hard to see the picture until you light the candle inside and then it glows. I still have my daughter's and we put it out every year. One idea that worked very well was to make the child's handprints in dough that is bakeable. Put the year and child's name on it along with a hanger on the back. I had a parent call me when she opened the gift on Christmas day, in tears. Said it was the best thing she could have every gotten because although she always wanted to do this, she put it off and had we not done it, her child would have grown up before she did it herself.
