My son did a cute play for his kindergarten graduation that could easily be adapted for preschool.
Little Bo Peep lost her sheep and she asked all the other nursery rhyme characters if they saw them. Everyone had on a cute costume of each character (i.e. big bad wolf, Peter Peter Pumpkin Eater, Little Miss Muffet, etc.) she finally finds her sheep after asking everyone in the end. You can make it as simple as Little Bo Peep saying to each character "Have you seen my sheep?" they can either say "no" or nod their head no. Have fun with this. The costumes were so cute to see! A narrator can say "then she went to visit Little Miss Muffet" etc. Hope this helps!
