My children all say...
Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the Lord my soul to keep. Guide me, protect me through the night, and wake me with the morning light.
We also add... God Bless all our friends and family. Bless all the little boys and girls who aren't at home with their Mummy's and Daddy's tonight. May they come home safe and sound, real soon.
Then they add a little something else. Maybe about something that happened during the day, or something they hope for tomorrow, or whatever they wish! Then of course "AMEN"
We started the second part when my eldest (Now 11 years, and STILL uses the prayer) was about 2.5 yrs. old and a little 3 yr. old girl had been kidnapped. So she came up with that little bit extra one night, and it has never changed.
