I took a linguistics class in university and they talked a lot about voiced and unvoiced letters...

For example....

The letter B and the letter P are both the same letter (if you pay attention to what you do with your mouth)... the only difference is, if you put your fingers on your throat when you make the P sound, you don't feel anything... when you make the B sound you feel a vibration. It sounds like the letters you're having trouble with are the vibrating ones.

To help teach... have your 2 yr old, grrrr like a dog with his fingers on his throat to feel the vibration. Now say P and try to make the same vibration -- you'll get a B

(the first letter in each has the vibration, the second doesn't but the mouth works the same way for both)
