Pinwheel Cookies
 • 1 oz unsweetened chocolate
 • 1 3/4 cup all purpose flour
 • 1/2 tsp baking powder
 • 1/4 tsp salt
 • 1/2 cup margarine
 • 1/2 tsp vanilla
 • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
 • 1 egg
 • 1/3 cup chopped nuts
 1.  Melt chocolate and set aside
 2.  Stir together flour, baking powder and
     salt. Set aside.
 3.  Cream butter, add vanilla and sugar,
     beat until light and fluffy, add egg and
     beat well.
 4.  Gradually add flour mixture and mix on
     low speed.
 5.  Divide dough in half
 6.  Add mixed nuts to half and chocolate to the other half and mix both well.
 7.  Roll each half between two pieces of wax paper to measure 10x12 inches.
 8.  Place rolled chocolate dough on the plain nut dough removing wax paper.
 9.  Roll together tightly and refrigerate or freeze.
 10. Slice the rolled dough into 1/4 inch thick cookies and bake at 400F for 10 to 12 minutes.
