The other day I was looking for a toilet paper tube race car craft
for 4+ and couldn't find one so I came up with one of my own using your
basic principles for T.P.R. crafts. Here it is if you want to add it to
your website.
I found a suitable car template from
thebestkidsbooksite.com and reduced it to print at 65%. When I cut
out the template I didn't cut the bottom of the car to shape but cut out
a flat line on the bottom instead so it would be easier for the kids to
cut out and glue on the tube, and it was going to be covered by tires
anyway. I then folded my construction paper in half making 2 copies of
the template for the sides of the car. I then followed the steps for
most of your toilet paper tube crafts, covering the tube with
construction and glued the sides of the car on each side of the tube. I
then found a circle that would match in scope for the tires and cut out
4 tires using black construction paper and glued these on the car,
making sure they were mostly even so the car would stand up. I kept mine
simple but some of the kids decorated theirs, added headlights, etc. To
make it fun for older kids they could cut a whole on the top of the tube
and add an ice cream popsicle stick driver.
