DLTK's Crafts for Kids Perseus Toilet Paper Roll Craft
This is a fun and simple color, cut and paste paper craft that uses a toilet paper roll as a base to give it a three dimensional effect.
Perseus is the Greek hero who beheaded the Medusa
(the Gorgon with the hair of snakes). He received many gifts from
the nymphs to help him defeat Medusa. His helmet gave him
invisibility and his winged sandals allowed him to travel very
quickly. Anyone who looked at Medusa would be turned to stone --
so Perseus looked at her using his mirrored shield and as soon as he had
beheaded her, he popped her head in a sack.
Perseus used Medusa's severed head to turn the cruel King Polydectes
to stone in order to save his mother Danae from having to marry
him. (the generic mermaid, king
and queen crafts in the can be used to
represent a nymph, Polydectes and Danae if you would like all the
characters) |
