The Ultimate Greek Yoghurt Dip

Ultimate Greek Yoghurt Dip

I do my best to eat a healthy and balanced diet, which can sometimes be especially difficult as a vegetarian trying to eat enough protien. One of the best ways I have found to help with the great protien struggle of a plant-based lifestyle is by replacing the classic dips (tzatziki, tartar sauce, aeoli, etc) with Greek yoghurt alternatives. When I first started searching for the perfect dip subsitutes I struggled to find recipes that actually tasted good instead of just healthy. Until one day I stumbled upon the perfect tartar sauce subsitute from the Green Kitchen's Cauliflower "Fish" and Chips recipe.

This was by far the best Greek yoghurt dip I ever discovered and since then I have tried out a few alterations. Below I have shared the classic tartar sauce Greek yoghurt dip and also some suggestions to change up the dip for different purposes!

Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Place the Greek yoghurt into a bowl.
  2. Chop the capers and flat leaf parsley.
  3. Add the capers and parsley to the bowl.
  4. Squeeze the juice of a fresh lemon into the bowl and remove any seeds.
  5. Stir all of the ingredients together until well combined and season with a bit of salt and pepper to taste.

Variations:

Play around with different herbs and flavours using this basic structure for yoghurt dip and you can create all sorts of dips for different food. Here are some examples of my favourites.

Tzatziki Dip

Mint and Corriander Dip

Garlic Dip

Makes a delicious dip for 2!
