Recipe: Making Dalgona (Whipped) Coffee
Ingredients (scaled to fill a large-sized mason jar):
- 1/4 cup instant coffee (I used Nescafé Colombian dark roast)
- 1/4 cup sugar (any type; you can alter this ingredient for taste--with equal parts sugar, instant coffee, and boiling water, it's deliciously sweet!)
- 1/4 cup boiling water
- 4 cups milk (any type)
Directions:
- Boil water, and pour 1/4 cup of sugar and 1/4 cup of instant coffee into a larger mixing bowl.
- Once the water is boiled, immediately add 1/4 cup of boiling water to the larger mixing bowl.
- If you have an electric mixer, use it for 2-3 minutes on high or until the mixture is whipped and creamy. If you are using a whisk, quickly whip your mixture in a back-and-forth motion for 10-15 minutes (depending on your speed/strength). Tip: do not whisk in a circular motion.
- Once you have the desired consistency, spoon your mixture over 4 cups of milk in a large-sized mason jar (more or less, depending on taste). You can serve your milk hot or cold and over ice.
- Enjoy!
