DLTK's Crafts for Kids
Lumberjack Day Crafts and Activities
September 26th each year is "Lumberjack Day". It's a great day to eat a hearty breakfast (pancakes, anyone?), skip bath time and wear flannel.
It's also a nice day to go for a nature walk amongst the trees. Older children can be taught how to chop wood (it's harder than it looks!) with lots of instruction and supervision from mom and dad. Younger children can make leaf rubbings or draw pictures of trees.
"The Giving Tree"
is a great book to read with your kids on Lumberjack Day or you can share the poem, What Do We Plant?.
