African Shield

This is the African Shield that we made. My grandson always dresses up when we finish a unit.  We were studying about the Masaai Warriors and found a picture of an authentic Masaai Warrior shield that he wanted to copy.  To get the look, he tore up brown grocery bags and put them in water and then crumpled up the pieces and laid them out to dry in the sun.  Then he glued them all on before painting.  It is quite impressive!
