Christian Crafts and Books

Now that my son Eric is in bed, I was searching for an adult bilingual Bible (English/Spanish) and a toddler/preschool Bible in Spanish, I was directed to this site.  I was impressed with the selection and decided to look in other areas and found interesting christian craft books for preschoolers.

I don't remember if I mentioned this before, but I will any way.  I had been searching and searching for a Bible storybook to introduce the Bible to my son, 2 3/4 years old.  He had some individual books on The Nativity, and a couple of others that had small verses and prayers for night time.

Most books in the market are for older children (4+) and quite unimpressive.  By chance, I saw this solitary copy of this wonderful book at a warehouse club, picked it up and read the first story (rhyming poem) and then showed it to my son. He was entranced and I ended reading like ten stories (very short) right then and there.  It was wonderful. Of course I bought it and have been able to really get my Eric interested finally in something so very important. His new heroes are David, Jonah and more.

I was so impressed that I wanted to know more about the publishers, authors and so forth.  I cannot find the links right now but, the book won a major Christian book award for this year 2000.  It is also available at amazon.com and there are excellent reviews there as well.  I cannot say enough about this book.  It is for children 1-4 year olds.  I love the titles given to each story: for example Noah's Ark is The Floating Zoo (a lot more appealing to a young child). Moses is Baby in a Boat and so forth. The illustrations are so appealing, I cannot describe them. Well, I thought you might want to check into this one and maybe you might even recommend it in your Bible section in the future.  I intend to buy some copies for Christmas presents.

(Don't forget DLTK's Bible section!)
