Day 15:  West Point to Cavendish

< DAY 14   DAY 16 >

We awoke early Monday morning and sent the girls down to get started with breakfast. Mom and Dad joined them for coffee and toast and we checked out of the lighthouse.

We hadn’t explored the beach near us the day before so we decided this would be a good chance.  Because it was early in the morning and the tide had just gone out, there were lots of treasures to find on our beach walk including giant seashells, pretty stones and even beach glass!

We carefully wrapped up pr treasures and headed straight to Cavendish - home of Anne of Green Gables. We arrived at our cabin that was to be our home for the next three nights. Dad and the girls popped over to the grocery store to pick up some breakfast items and some deli lunch for the day while mom did laundry at the resort facilities.

We drove over to Charlottetown for some shopping and supper at the wharf and then went to Anne of Green Gables, the musical.  It was terrific (and we had great seats) the show lasted 2½ hours so we ended up driving home in the dark.

Tasha needed the bathroom so we stopped at McDonalds before leaving Charlottetown.  Unfortunately Darren didn’t realize that they were in the process of painting the lines in the parking lot and he drove over them – oops, we’ll have yellow tires for a while!
