Turtle Three Dimensional Craft

Thanks to Marie for contributing this idea!  This is a simple cut and paste turtle craft with a twist -- you end up with a three dimensional turtle to display or play with.

Materials:

bulletprinter and paper

bulletstapler
bulletscissors
bulletglue
bulletprinter and paper

bulletOptional:  either wiggly eyes or white paper

Instructions:

bulletPrint the template of choice

bulletColor the template pieces (if using the B&W version)

bulletCut slits in each corner of the large body shape

bulletStaple or tape the paper together so it overlaps slightly and forms a bowl shape

bulletGlue the eyes onto the head (moon shape)

bulletGlue the head onto the front of the body

bulletKaitlyn, age 8, folded the head a little and glued that onto the body (see photo at the top of this page).  She was happy with this as the head lay flat on the table that way.

bulletYou could also just glue the head on a little higher and not fold it.

bulletFold the tabs on the feet and tail and glue them to the inside of the body

Printing the Template:

bulletClose the template window after printing to return to this screen.

bulletSet page margins to zero if you have trouble fitting the template on one page (FILE, PAGE SETUP or FILE, PRINTER SETUP in most browsers).
