Instructions:

  1. Place your plate on a piece of brown construction paper. Trace around the plate's edge with your pencil. Next, cut out the circle you've just traced.
  2. Fold the paper circle into 4 equal parts. After unfolding it, you will see 4 lines intersecting at the center. Cut along one of these lines until you reach the circle's center.
  3. Overlap the edges you just cut to create a cone shape. Secure the cone with tape or glue. This forms the body of your turkey.
  4. Cut out a small diamond or triangle shape from orange construction paper to make the beak. Fold it in half to create a 3D effect.
  5. Cut out two larger circles for the eyes from white paper, and smaller circles from black paper for the pupils. Alternatively, use googly eyes for a fun effect.
  6. From red construction paper, cut out a small 'wattle' – the fleshy, thin lobe that hangs down from a turkey's neck. Attach it below the beak.
  7. Glue the beak and eyes onto the front of your cone.
  8. Cut out feather shapes from various colors of construction paper. Create a generous amount to use as the turkey's tail feathers.
  9. Attach the "feathers" at the back of the cone, ensuring they fan out to resemble a turkey's tail.
