Lamb Mask Craft

This is a cute but very simple craft.  I think it would be a nice one for younger kids to make for Halloween if they're not really into wearing a big fancy costume (both my girls were like that at age 2).

It would also be nice for a class or daycare to make for a farm or nursery rhyme party.  They could parade around like lambs and sing songs/rhymes like "Mary Had a Little Lamb".

It's fun to do with the flower mask, lion mask or sunshine mask too.

Materials:

• a paper plate or a circle of cardboard (see the turkey wreath for how to make a circle of cardboard)
• construction paper (white or maybe black if you're doing Baa Baa Black Sheep)
• pencil,
• glue,
• popsicle stick, Tongue Depressor or unsharpened pencil

Instructions:

• Cut rectangles out of construction paper.  I make them about 4 inches long and an inch or two wide..
• You can decorate the rectangles with markers or sparkles to make the craft a bit more complicated.
• Have an adult cut the center out of the paper plate so the child's head becomes the center of the mask.
• Roll one of the rectangles of construction paper around a pencil to make it curly.
• Glue the curled rectangles all the way around the edge.
• Optional:  Cut a couple of peanut shaped for ears out of construction paper.
• Glue on a popsicle stick or unsharpened pencil as a handle (you might want to add a bit of tape to reinforce).
• Now the child can peek through the lamb mask!
