Yuri’s Night- April 12th
International Day of Human Space Flight - April 12th
Welcome to my International Day of Human Space Flight celebration page on DLTK's Kids, where we come together to ignite the spirit of discovery and embrace the excitement of space exploration! Every April, people around the world host parties and events to commemorate the remarkable achievement of Yuri Gagarin, who became the first human to venture into space on April 12, 1961. As we gather to celebrate, we remember his awe-inspiring words:
"Circling the Earth in my orbital spaceship I marveled at the beauty of our planet. People of the world, let us safeguard and enhance this beauty — not destroy it!"
Yuri Gagarin, 1st human in space.
The inaugural Yuri's Night celebration took place in 2001, with the mission of raising public awareness about space exploration and inspiring a whole new generation to reach for the stars. As a passionate advocate for space education and exploration, I am thrilled to share resources, activities, and ideas to help you create an out-of-this-world Yuri's Night celebration. Let's embark on this cosmic journey together!
