Description: One of three Pokémon offered by Professor Oak at the beginning of the game. Squirtle start out cute and cuddly but soon evolve into formidable fighters: first Wartortle, then Blastoise.

Gameboy Info:
Red/Blue: After birth, its back swells and hardens into a shell. It powerfully sprays foam from its mouth.
Note: In the game's early stages, Squirtle tend to fare better against combatants than Charmander.
Gold/Silver: The shell is soft when it is born. It soon becomes so resilient,
prodding fingers will bounce off it. The shell, which hardens soon after
it is born, is resilient. If you poke it, it will bounce back out.
GAMES - LOCATIONS:
Pokemon Snap:
- The little bumps in the water at the start of the Valley level are Squirtle shells. Throw Pester Balls at them and they will run onto land. Then you can take close-up photographs, without them fleeing like the other Squirtles.
Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow:
- Squirtle is one of the three Pokemon that you may choose to begin with.
Pokemon Gold/Silver:
- Where found: Not found in Gold/Silver. (Trade from Red/Blue/Yellow)
