DLTK's Canadian Brownies Section
Guiding Outlook

Create a poster that shows something about the various branches of Guiding.  Put it up in your meeting place for the other girls to see.

 

Sparks

  • Theme of the program:  For Fun and Friendship 
  • Paper Doll (shows the uniform)
  • Girls ages 5 & 6 yrs
  • What they do:  games, songs, field trips and crafts
  • Promise:  I promise to share and be a friend.

Brownies

  • Theme of the program:  For Fun and Adventure
  • Paper Doll (shows the uniform)
  • Girls ages 7 & 8 yrs
  • The adult leaders are known as Brown Owl, Snowy Owl, Tawny Owl and similar names.
  • What they do:  Program work, earning badges, games, crafts, songs and field trips.

I promise to do my best, 
To be true to myself, my God/faith and Canada; 
I will help other people,
And keep the Brownie Law.

As a Brownie
I am honest and kind;
I help take care
Of the world around me.

Guides

Pathfinders

  • Theme of the program:  For Fun and Opportunities
  • Girls 12,13 & 14 yrs.
  • What they do:  Earn the Canada Cord.  Program work, community service and camping combine to make Pathfinders interesting and challenging.
  • Seven sections ("emblems") to the program work:  Be Prepared, Camping, Community, Home, Leadership, Outdoors and the World.  When the Gold level of all the emblems is achieved, the Pathfinder receives the Canada Cord.

Seniors (Cadets, Rangers and Junior Leaders)

  • Girls 15 and older
  • most of the girls spend time helping with the younger groups
  • When core program is complete, the Commissioner's Gold Award is received
